Thanks for this post. I would be interested to hear from anyone who suffers from binge eating disorder who tries this technique out, and to hear how they got on - how successful was it for them?
A few thoughts do arise that I think are worth discussion -
this sounds like it might be useful for those whos binges are only related to particular 'trigger' foods that are safe , and indeed possible, for them to completely remove from their diet (hence your point 1 - but I think it is worth re-emphasising) - such as cakes / biscuits / chocolate etc or other processed food. But, not everyone who binges only binges on junk food. It doesnt sound to me like this will work for those who binge on any type of food that happens to be around at the time. It wouldnt be good to make any type of food make you feel sick for obvious reasons.
Also - what about those whose binges are triggered by emotional issues - this technique may help stop the binge (which is obviously a positive) but are they then left high & dry with the negative emotions that lead to the binge - these emotional aspects would still need addressing & coping with in a more healthy way.
Lastly - making a connection between the trigger food and a feeling of wanting to vomit - this rings alarm bells with me - is there as risk of the sufferer ending up still binging but now vomiting aswell - in other words bulimia nervosa?
Would love to hear your experiences regarding helping binge eating with NLP, as anything that helps is good,
Thanks

Matt
