If you’ve been looking for NLP training, you probably need to make an assessment on the following points.
- Is your trainer actively using NLP? You’ll want to know that your NLP trainer has been actively using it in various areas so you know he/she is staying sharp!
- Is your trainer following guidelines and constantly striving to enhance their NLP practitioners? A lot of trainers end up simply teaching the curriculum like a school teacher, and neglect development of practitioners. A community of NLP practitioners constantly looks for improvements in the field or else they will get bored. Seriously – you need a constantly evolving knowledge base. It will require a lot of modeling and if your trainer doesn’t do it, you’re going to stop really using NLP broadly.
- What areas of results has your trainer achieved using NLP? Seriously speaking, therapeutic methods are so easy to achieve. Fast phobia cures? Anyone can do it. I’m talking about achievements that can be measured – number of people helped in various areas (e.g. coached others to win a competition, saved marriages, etc), or even personal results (e.g. number of books published, weight loss, income earned, etc)
- Is the training licensed by Dr. Richard Bandler? Well, there’s a reason why I’m writing this. It’s not because people not licensed by Richard are no good. Being licensed means you’re going to be recognized by the foremost NLP organization in the world – simply because of Richard himself. The man innovates and has a lot more stuff he’s developed over the years you won’t be able to read about in a book.
- Is there experiential training and a feedback system for training? This is something that you should have in an NLP training. It’s not just about learning the techniques alone – it’s also about the way the training is taught and the experience that is delivered.
- Does your trainer develop training in NLP applications? This is very important because you need to see how NLP is “put together” by your trainer, that your trainer is not just teaching something from a textbook, but using NLP in application areas that can help people achieve results.
